About Tom Swart

My poems are simple works of those emotions that were looking for words to express themselves. They are not meant to dazzle or impress anyone. They are not meant to push aside the great poets of our times . I would never even think of calling myself a true poet but rather an emotional hacker who finds the right words now and then. My poems were not written with praise expected. They are simply what they are for the time they shall exist.

Someday most of our words will be lost and forgotten. There will be few signs that we existed and even fewer of our words. A select few will live on in some way if we are lucky. Most though will not survive the hands of time as each poem that rests on a piece of paper eventually finds themselves lost forever. I wonder how many great poems have been erased this way and how many have been reborn in some way or another by the heart of another poet.

Unlike some here who threaten us if we use or copy their great works, I gladly hope that if my poem fills your need that you would use it in any way you wish. I will be happy to claim the credit if you let me but if you want to and if the need arises and you have a love that may be tipped your way by my words then you may call them your own. Like the trees of the orchard you may use these fruits as you desire. They are after all just words and emotions and I have no copyright on them. Peace.
