Menstruation under the october moon

by Georghina lolabelle jewett

If it was so easy like something I know
but, I don't understand.
& I know sometimes I don't make sense.

The pain, The pain, The pain,
I know it, I feel it inside me.
I recognize it purely & with fright,
I burn.

Body of dark somber.
With a face i know

& I've become spellbound by its damage.

Its beauty fills me with head aches.
& its deepened crows & caws,
sound of sweet brass tunes.

Sweet Enough to remind me of motionless things.
&
To decapitate me from my heart
& its wild sorrow
