Goddess, Burn me.

by MartyrAmanda   Dec 29, 2009

I feel you starting to begin,
Digging in,
Feeling the edges,

Sanity's melted memories,
Inside my darkest wilderness,
I have explored the inside,

Dark, dripping,
Like murky depths of lies,
The rocky bottom of truth,

Entire solar systems escape this,
but the Universe cant help but to exist
Remain my Goddess,
Flawless,

Corrupt this,
Wreck the wreckage,
and speak with a tongue of blasphemy

Tainted taste,
and slippery touch,

But feel
is my only command
Listen,
Learn,
Goddess, Burn me,

What is this to you?
And what are they to them,
and them to I,
Cast the line,
and hook the lie,

Goddess,
Cease the moment,
Not the day,
Breath inside the words
Live above the birds,

Acid rain cant melt my hate away,
the only apology that has escaped
my dying lips
Is no ones but yours,
Goddess,
Burn me.

Your choice of words is astounding. This if by far one of my favorite poems. I enjoyed every stanza, every line, but these are the ones that stood out the greatest for me:

    "Dark, dripping,
    Like murky depths of lies,
    The rocky bottom of truth,"

To me, these lines reflect reality. The truth isn't always what it seems - but these lines run deep, that even saying that puts me on shaky grounds.

    Other lines that stood out:

    "Goddess,
    Cease the moment,
    Not the day,"

"Acid rain cant melt my hate away"

You've written a beautiful, dark piece. I'm glad you shared this with us. :)
