Split Romance of the Precious

by Maple Tree   Jan 20, 2014

He crossed over into the depths of darkness,
kissing the moon softly before murder took
over his soul.

Bulging blue was mystified by three shades
of greed, need and want took it's toll on
the undeniable love for the Precious.

Captivating moonbeams hush so that evil
may live and breath within the depths of darkness
in Gallium's cave.

Two personalities, living in one breath
is desired by the bulging blue eyes
of a creature re-birthed to insanity.

Mangled fish guts form a heart of romance
around the bewilderment of a black hearted
ring.

The one ring of unity-

Matrimony of Smeagle to Gallium
brings to light a passionate
need to love when there is no
love in site...

Black, blacker, blackest-

Kisses the moon goodnight
before the sun rises and falls....

I agree with gness. Your wording amd imagery is impeccable and great. This poem is great because it tells a great story. I can imagine this enfolding well. I love the description of the kissing of the moon and that tells me it's night time. Maybe the only time this person really "lives" I loved the spin on the lord of the rings story though. This is dark yes but sweet. I love how you focused on one character and how greed has taken over a soul. I'm not sure if it was intentional but you kinda show how the world is sadly. We always want more and don't enjoy the simple things in life. I enjoyed the ending here very much. A lil romance though dark was thrown in and it enhances the story and the twist. Overall great poem :).
