Alice in the Land of Madness

by Jack Nightengale   May 24, 2014

Come and take a seat with me,
Under the shade of the old oak tree.

Slide down the rabbit's hole,
Where insanity reaches the soul.

Two options but only one right choice,
It'll show within your voice.

A step into a world insane,
Or is this all simply in the brain?

A trip to madness manner,
With a deranged welcome banner,

A path to blood fall creek,
Where everyone but a power hungry queen is weak.

Or, the road to black light woods,
General traders and other goods.

A meeting with a bug that sells bud,
A man in a hat that can survive a flood.

The pale queen of a summers winter,
Against a red queen who's castle you dare not enter.

A glimpse of power, her champion roars,
A pale champion who's power is doing chores.

A tale fit for one who is left in sadness,
Must be insane to visit the land of madness.
This girl is truly nuts and her name is Alice.

Wow, I love this poem! It got me hooked just from the title. You put some great rhythm into this piece and it flows to nicely. It is like a story about a story. That is cool! Great job!
