Darkened Needs

by cassie hughes   Jul 31, 2014

In want I feel the thrill of blood
drip down my length
to pool upon the wasted ground.

In need I hum and dance and whirl
as conflict grows around the
one to whom I'm bound.

In hunger do I strike at will
to taste the iron liquid
as from opened veins it spurts.

In thrall I bathe in crimson gore
that clings and in its grip
my shine perverts.

In lust I urge the hand that
wields me on to further violence
with which to paint me red.

In triumph I embrace the will
to end it all in glory that
will keep my bloodlust fed.

In love I long to lose all else
except the blissful feeling of
this dance of death

In hate I will submerse myself
until the last one falls and
I can lay myself to rest.

Wow, I find this poem very unique. I like your language use, it is something I struggle to do myself, to use the older style of English in the sentences.

I really like the structure of the poem and how you have chosen to lay it out, this worked really well.

The pace was very good, it made it enjoyable to read, even though the content may be dark.

There is something about this which stands out for me! Well done
