Hallowed Death

Hallowed Death

They came to mourn the death of life,
Where the Raven haunts and others cry...

Here it lays a dying breed,
In this darkened forest where they bleed...

This hallowed ground where life is done
You know you are the chosen one...

And just beyond the fallen pines,
You can see the home where the others died...

On a tattered roof that covers the throne,
Of the Raven's hallowed haunted home...

Where living deep within these walls,
Walk the shadow people in haunted halls...

Silent tales of the coming doom,
As they rise above the endless tombs...

Chilling shapes that remain unseen,
Hearing sounds of chains rattle, as they flee...

The cries from the souls living deep within,
And to those in here who no longer live...

The fear hath killed their silent pride,
Death has come for those who cried...

Look into the shadows and smell the stench,
You know they bleed at your expense...

Floating above the cryptic tiles,
A heartless challenge for those on trial...

Hallowed graves that once contained,
The rotting corpse of those who played...

Faces shadowed on this crimson night,
Pain brings to them the evil delight...

Gothic dreams were painted black,
You start to run and can't look back...

There is no way out of the demons grip,
As the blood and flesh glisten on their lips...

From the darkened forest is where they came,
The screams and cries drive you insane...

And all the spirits gathered here,
Are gratified by all your fear...

Life will never be the same,
Spirits rise as if to say...

No more tears the blood runs deep,
Close your eyes, the final sleep...

Goodbye my child

I like it. The beat. I don't know why but for some reason I always feel a beat in poems. This one doesn't seem to have a definite meter but it has good rhymes. I may come back to read this piece again. Keep writing and thanks for sharing.
