Night Walker

by Painted Faces   Jan 10, 2015

1 black coffee, 2 scoops of sugar with an apple pie for desert.
that's how she remembered me when i use to see her at work.
the food wasn't the best but she kept me going to the place.
i use to go there every night just to gaze upon her face.
such beauty given to one, i swore it should've been a crime.
a stranger but to save her life, i would gladly offer mine.
every night I would watch, as she walked home from work.
such a coward, I never developed the courage.
To walk up to such beauty and extend a hand.
and introduce myself so she would know who I am.
In fact, a month ago I wish I had.
maybe it would not have turned out so bad.
Maybe she would have invited me in.
Maybe we could have grown to be great friends.
but the maybes have now turned into regrets.
ever since those wholes in my neck turned me into something so complex.
i hate myself but i have a desire to live.
and this is a curse i simply wont give.
so i drain the blood then break the neck.
and stalk the night looking for the next.
i stop by the diner sometimes just to gaze upon her face.
still a coward, i admit, im trying not to enter the place.
I wish I were still human I would have made the move first.
But the attraction since the day I was bit has grown a great deal worse.
I try to fight the urge but the curse is too strong I can feel it in my thirst.
Nothing is fulfilling, I don't want to take her I wish she would come willing.
I am trying to fight the urge, I hope I can find the courage.
I take a deep breath as I walk in, the human part of me asks for forgiveness of my sins.
I take my regular seat at the diner, and my waitress has never looked finer.
she walks up to me, "1 black coffee, 2 scoops of sugar with an apple pie for desert".
She laughs then smiles and i see her teeth, im the one she hurt.
