Doomsayer

When the twilight of sincerity comes,
they shall cut themselves free
from both puppeteer and neighbour;
They shall invite ruin to their wishes
and endings to their hope,
as the winds of change rage.

They shall love no-one but themselves.
Though they will lovingly embrace each other,
they will coil like snakes at the other's throat
while hiding cruel venom in their smiles.
They shall breathe condemnation
and break any divine covenant.

Though they once walked in the light,
they shall return to the shadows.
They shall forget the name of the Earth,
and cast away any remnants of fondness
that might linger in their bonds,
and they shall fall.

They will curse their creator
and serve but the goddess of death
when they turn faith into blessings,
and blessings into providence.
The world shall burn, and the ashes
and blood of their grief shall fertilize the soil,

as they turn their providence into crusades
where they prove the folly of our humanity;
when everything is coloured with madness
and nothing but the music of their screams
vibrates throughout the threads of time,

they shall fall.
