Screams

by The Moon Goddess   Jun 26, 2015

I hear their screams fill the air.
The bloodcurdling tormenting sound.
Looking around I see no one.
Just an abandoned cemetery.
The ground is crazed and wild.
The stone door blocked.
No escape. No freedom.
Screams loud-en in pitch.
I look around again and see a man walking towards me.
I felt a scream fill my lungs.
It has begun.
I'm buried six feet under.
I'm buried alive, like everyone else here.
I scream with them.
Just another voice among the dead.

I think this poem could fit well too, in the dark category. It is very unsettling, the idea of being buried alive. I like how you set the situation up - the screams being the first things you were, disembodied screams belonging to buried bodies, leading into your bodily scream, from your dying, buried body.

I like it - it has a very particular feel to it.
