Tomorrow

by TheMask   Jul 10, 2015

Every step I take in this cold world is another tear I shed
I walk alone on this broken path of mine
Under this moon that shines the dim light I'm used to
I sing a song of another day

A day full of sunlight
A day full of laughter
A day full of happiness
A tomorrow I wish for

The melody ends and I'm forced back
Into this cold reality
Where there is no tomorrow
No dawn I can look forward to
I paint another picture of my dream of tomorrow

A sun rising
Birds chirping awakened from their sleep
Warm wind blows the frost off the grass
A tomorrow I wish for

The picture turns to dust when I touch it
That dream isn't one that welcomes me
I continue on my way
No direction looks friendly
Only filled with a darkness that my life consists of
I dance towards another life

A life of friends
A life filled with light
A life that has a tomorrow
A tomorrow I wish for

With no more strength the dance ends
I don't have enough energy left to continue
It's a life I can only hope for
A life that only a fairytale can have in this broken world
I write about a fairytale world

A beautiful world
A bright sky
A glowing sun
That has a tomorrow I wish for

The page burns, burning my hands
Even my words won't let me escape at this point
Escape this cold cruel reality
A reality that has death ruling over it
If this reality won't let me have a tomorrow
Then I'll make a new reality
A reality that doesn't forsake a tomorrow

A tomorrow I wish for
A tomorrow that will come at last
