Confined to Darkness

by Rob   Nov 10, 2015

In the darkness she sits in the corner,
Her hands cradle her crying face,
There is no destiny on the horizon,
Just this room locked behind iron gates...

Her black hair frayed and pungently tangled,
Her once painted nails have faded away,
It is in this Labyrinth the blood freely flows,
And on vulnerable souls the evil spirits prey...

She lives in the past of deceased memories,
Those distant thoughts all forgotten and gone,
Deep in the abyss of the darkness,
In a place where she is simply deaths pawn...

This dungeon holds no exuberant pillages,
There is nothing here but a carnage of past souls,
Her hands bound in chains no escape,
Life is no longer under her control...

The chains that hold her secure in the solitude,
Have rusted over time from her tears,
The life she once knew gone and over,
Beckoning the end of her life is near...

Spirits dwell freely in the shadows of death,
It is time that they show her the path,
She has shed her last tear in this darkened room,
The demons come and take her at last...

And it is over...
