Triggered Episode

by Tim Mauntler   Feb 1, 2016

Did you hear that
Maybe I'm insane
My demons still haunt me
They're the ones to blame

I can't react fast enough
Combat mode engaged
Memories from all directions
My body's enraged

Don't push forward
Don't approach from behind
Don't love too hard
I'm missing my mind

My mind won't come back
It's fighting overseas
I need it more than ever
I'm forgetting to breathe

I can't relax
I can't just be happy
I should've died
They aimed right at me

There were bullets flying
Explosions everyday
Now I'm sitting here
Tied up to wait

I see them everywhere
They infiltrate the bank
They enter the diner
They're rushing the gate

Did you see that?
No, I was alone in this vision
What did you say?
I'll try to pay attention

The short, sharp lines really add to the frantic and desperate feel of this quick piece.
It comes at you like rapid fire and has a great affect.
Well done and all the best,
    Ben
