On Haunted Trails

by NightFlyer   Apr 15, 2016

Our evening walks on haunted trails
Where lies a ghostly mystery
Through spectral clouds that slowly sail
The silver moon shines silently.

An arcane truth resides here still
As moonlight shines through leafless trees
It's shrouded in the icy chill
As spirits pass us in the breeze.

This midnight walk past battle plaques
And twisted trees in frozen gloom
The cold wind blows against our backs
Dark memories these trails entomb.

An eerie presence haunts us here
As apparitions drift on by
Fill us with dread as they appear
Neath Concord's starry Winter sky.
