Take a Piece of My Life

by AngelaLuisaCory   Apr 23, 2016

Take a piece of my life....
File me under my current name,
Identity, Miss...Mrs
Set in resin of snapshot time.
Happy times.
Pull a little at a time away
It will not stay.
Mask my face in lipstick colour,
Hide from day.
Pull a little at a time away
As prey
And slowly lose the scent of personal truth.
I had thought, the last time,
Heaven's enough,
I've had enough!
You've taken that piece with you,
Tightly wrapped.
But here it is, I found it
In my dreams, souring the other night
Struggling for recognition and breath
In wine-red glasses, one's not enough -
More real as sufficient time passes.
Can you transmit that part of me?
Return it unharmed, unused,
To make me whole once more?
Through thought, longing, ecstasy?
I'd accept it even as triviality-
I think not...
Suffocating flame in transit
Soul to Soul, thought to thought.
Morbid fascination in these feelings
Transmitted in phoenix-like form to words.
Such scattered beats of heart
Are torn apart each time,
And shredded, before these passing phases -
Enveloped, concave, mirrored traces.
Watch it transformed in my many faces
Like shadow, part of me -
And yet, apart.
I see where you are in my heart -
Imprinted as a bird,
My Soul.
Scarred reality - intended to remind
This should be buried, left behind-
So MUCH my heart's reality
Unity n completion -
Meaning of all my Life.
Wife, of your Soul

The rhyme you have here is really something.Often looming here and there ,it makes one to continue reading the poem throughout. With the imagery you have here it creates a perfect blend of poetry. Fantastic piece,it really is.
