I like the use of Fiddle dee dum fiddle dee di
it added humour to the piece, and also the subtle rhymes like I and thee, and me.

there is one part where I am left a tad confuse and that's where it says first you shrink then you die.. was the little king talking to the sausage?

and was the narration coming from the italian sausage as they observed the little king growing?

Or was this narration coming from a professor who was teaching the little king to cook and the professor was observing him Grow day by day?

    or I am totally off.

You are actually pretty close on most counts.

My son commented how old people shrink as they get old and then they die...he was 5 when he said this.

I guess the narration was from me teaching him to cook sausage...I'm impressed that you got the sausage reference!

Children are real treasure and when they talk they really do take our imagination with them on a wonderful trip and every moment spent with them is a treasure!

Looks like you and your boy had a good time cooking and I must admit I was a little lost with "slicing of the italians" but then figured it something to do with food. Nonetheless an enjoyable read :)
