Mr Potato Head (my pet rock)

by Michael D Nalley   Mar 20, 2013

I got tired of planting pets
So I found myself a plant
I tried to remember to forget
but it looks like I just can't
The flower was sadly bereaved
before it had a chance to leave
I was so proud of the rock I got
until it slowly began to rot
I buried it in the winter snow
In spring something would grow
Now when the rock's child dies
I'll just make some french fries
I'm as dumb as a box of rocks
that is the school of hard knocks
