The Elephant: Nonsense Poem

by Tim   Jun 19, 2013

The elephant is a wonderful bird,
That flits from bow to bow.
Making it's nest in rhubarb trees,
And whistling just like a cow.

I had the pleasure of meeting one,
He told me his name was Kate.
And after a while of hanging around,
Asked a squirrel out on a date.

"Yes I'd love to," said the squirrel,
Who just couldn't believe her luck.
I have to admit I was shocked too,
The squirrel has a beak like a duck.

Days, weeks and months go by,
And eventually it become clear.
The elephant didn't care about looks,
Because in fact he was a bear.
