Poetry Junkie - in love with this title!

I think this poem is something all of us here on PnQ can relate to. We browse through hundreds of pages of poetry, each one unique as the last and sometimes find ourselves getting lost in each other's words and hidden meanings.

You become addicted to finding out the true meaning of what each poem represents and how you can fit yourself into it and relate in some way. Afterall, we are all human and usually share the same emotions, just in different experiences.

The ending is amazing because you ponder on the fact if poetry can in fact help the world be a better place..to allow people all around the world to see just a glimpse through someone else's eyes, truly feel what they are feeling. I think if more people did so, more people would have more compassion and be grateful for the life they live.

I love this piece. I relate in so many ways and I think so do or would a lot of other people here if they decided to read this. It's not even just focused at the writers but also to the ones who read and read and read more than they give themselves away or open up their heart and soul. I think your descriptions are wonderful and the feel you created in this piece is amazing.

    My eyes browse through
    pages of poems,
    as I discover unexplained
    metaphors visiting lines
    of otherwise perfect sense...

^ I love this introduction. It is simple yet powerful. It's almost a poem all on it's own, but to say that it also creates curiosity as to what could be coming next. I love it.

    my mind begins to unravel
    their possible hidden meanings.

^ I like the word choice here, it made the transition almost perfect. Great.

    I have grown addicted
    to becoming lost inside
    the zone of someone else's
    galaxy;

^ This, this is perfect, the wording is great, the description is excellent and I love the way you say, "becoming lost in the zone of someone else's galaxy" which can be taken in so many different ways and each one is brilliant because every poem, every poet is brilliant in their own distinct ways.

    a universe we equally share,
    yet experience in different ways.

^ That's the point of life. Everyone goes through the same things but takes it so much differently and does something different with their thoughts and feelings towards it all. Okay sorry about my mini rant here, I wasn't sure what else to say besides it is a great transition and extraordinarily written.

    And I guess I ponder
    over this lonely thought,
    that what if poetry
could teach the rest of the world
    to see something
    through someone else's eyes...

^ I really think that this was a remarkable ending because in a way you gave us the reason you are "addicted" to poetry without saying too much either.

I really enjoyed this piece and I love your title. Excellent.

Aw Saffie, this is such a heartwarming piece! As said in the comments above, I am in love with the title as well. I love the yearning and curiosity in this piece, as I think it's something we can all relate to at some point. We have that desire to seek maybe what hasn't been said before, learning and sharing. It IS like looking through someone else's eyes and yes, I think there is always an opportunity to learn something from that person or in the least, be inspired. Though we all may use similar words, I believe there are endless meanings and interpretations. It's how we take those words and our vocabulary and craft them. None of us have lived the exact same moment or have the exact same story.

Beautiful piece, keep writing and reading of course :]

    Judging Comment:

Its the title that caught my attention and the feelings
in this poem is shared by writers of all ages. I guess
as writers, poets etc we all share this point of view
and yes we do get lost in other peoples' world, get
involved with their feelings and see what they see.
Its so easy to loose ourselves within each poem
written and at the same time take something away
or even instill inspiration within each one of us.

Really enjoyed this gem. Well done!
