People see what they want to see, even in family matters. The depth of the message of this poem is great. Stillness for me brings the whole poem together. Stillness can represent many aspects of negative thoughts. Why would anyone want to hurt children? In the moment everything stands still and it's like time forgets to breathe. Adults are selfish in a way that you couldn't call them parents anymore, as the tone of their lives lie deeper then what is seen. Inside they hurt too and they cannot take the pain so they lash it out on another person who doesn't deserve it. Great write.

In brevity, you say at a depth ,the innocent children being the victims of their parents wrath.
    Very well written.

When I first read this, I mentally found myself looking at this family portrait hung on a wall... a photograph of a moment frozen in time, a stillness. And you've provided the story behind that picture perfectly. The use of "wanting" and "lonely" suggest that maybe the kids are suffering because parents aren't around as much as they should be. And that perhaps with their busy schedules, they've become selfish and blind to the hurt that they've caused.

There's a deep draw of quiet and sorrow when reading this piece. It really offers something emotional and raw, and I love that. Great write Saff.

This poem kind of hits home. Funny how you can say so much in so few words.

I see a portrait like the rest of the lot here, but for me I see MY family portrait. Parents & two children & 2 dogs (Our dogs were always included in our family paintings. THey were our family)

In every one you see people being fake, adults tell us to paint fake smiles so they can remember us exactly how they wanted us to be remembered instead of how we were.
The children, who either A) dont want to be there or B) are hurt and depressed inside paint their faces with what others want them to show.

Ive been that child & although I could never write something so meaningful in so few words..

I feel that this poem is for me..
Thank you for writing this, thank you.
