At first I was taken with this poem..

Untill I read what you wrote at the end and then read it again.
So many people will relate to this alot feel like sociology
Won't accept them or people look straight through them
Because it's not a popular look or because there not used to it... Everyone think that somthing has to be everywhere for it to be right.

Reminds me of a quote... Just cause somethings popluar like slavery, Dont make it right. (back in the days of slavery).

In this sense just cause a certain percent of people dress and act and certain way doesn't mean any other way is wrong.

I think you got everything you needed in this short poem

    Well done.

I love the simple eloquence to this piece. It just leaves such an impact without really being anything (I mean no fancy vocabulary or style)

I pet black cats that pass on by
even though they are bad luck,
I figure that they need love
    no matter what they are.

^ I love how you started this without much of an intro, just what you do or are comparing your actions to. I love how the last two lines of it are so honest and matter of fact that they are more of a hook for the reader than the preceding lines. Interestingly penned, but I like it!

Most of them stare at me
    with their timid eyes,
    worrying what I might do
    to their fragile little pride.

^ This is perfect, I've read it over countless times and each time I do I find something different in it. Each one warm and comforting, because you are such a gentle person and the wway you worded this is nothing short of stunning.

    Eventually they warm up
    as they cuddle and pur,
talking as if they have had
    acceptance once before.

^ Excellent conclusion. It really makes your point hit hard. It left me thinking about things I don't think I have before and I really like the places I went and the ideas I was given.

    Wonderful piece.

    Nominated.

I find it really strange that people believe cats are bad luck just because they are black, when so many other things in this life are black. And also, you can get gifts for like weddings etc that are teddies of black cats, to wish good luck.... it is very strange.

I like what you done with the poem and where you took it, you are right, people are quick to judge when they should not.

The good thing is that there are good people left in this world who do not judge and who do accept people for who they are, no matter what.

These are the people that make life still worth living for.

    Keep writing

At first when I read this poem it triggered some inner imagination of the black cat and the so called bad luck cliche created by people who have melaphobia, then after I read the finishing line, got surprised with angle it took. Many people will agree to this.
As humans we tend or have the habit of judging the book by its cover forgeting that we are not a Bible or Quran full of goodnews.
We try to make others feel bad about themselves, we disconnect from others just because we feel that we are not in the same level.

Truth is, it's not the people we disassociate with have problems, but us. The moment we judge others we burden ourselves with negativity.
Many people might not fit in "our class of life" but that doesn't mean they are bad, it simply means they don't need to be in any class to accept and love who or what they are.

.Great message. I love it and thank you.
