    Hello Michael

I heard about this and saw the thread on the main boards.
I have to say, you have written three first class and very important senryu in the last couple of weeks.
I love the way you have worded the last line; very clever.

    Take care,
    Ben

I'm not one for short poetry but I loved this one. Very clever and I'm not sure if it was intentionally funny but I found it so.

Michael, excellent write-sounds as if you ran into a spot of trouble at the airport? Hope all is well? Take care-Brenda

    Michael,

What a fabulous poem. I love how so much can be said with so little wording.
I have looked at the nc law hb2 as stated in your title and it came up with a law that's been passed about discrimination or something if I am right then this makes more sense.

    Take care, Em

      Hello,

Thanks for the comments. I should have put a footnote to explain this poem. In a nutshell it is a new law passed in North Carolina, USA that means you can only use the bathroom that relates to the gender you are born. This obviously discriminates transgender individuals. How on earth are they going to enforce this ludicrous law?

Michael....this is so very current and...I do like that in a senryu. It's funny but gets the ridiculousness of this whole bill across in such few words. Well done...nominated :)

I do like a good Senryu. They can say more than any larger poem if written correctly.
More importantly I picked this poem because it is current. It shows that poetry can be current, can have a voice beyond Shakespeare and Longfellow. Poetry is sometimes seen as something from the dark ages or something that love sick teenagers write to each other......
I applaud Mr Darcy for writing about this topic and using a Senryu to boot. 4 points
