Mushroom soup

by Arunansu   Mar 18, 2008

Following an on-line cookbook
might be the shortest route to Mary

'clean and wash the mushrooms'
I complied with loads of water
and a cleansing detergent

'slice four to five pieces' -luckily
my left thumb didn't cut into two

blood oozed out a little
a good omen?

'Boil milk along with bay leaves'
they spilled over
added a few burns
-but was writing my first poem
any easier?

'Pour milk slowly. Cook for five minutes'
net result was a sticky
unyielding lump

'puree the mixture when cold'
I pounded the thing incessantly

yet it remained
an unmoved
heart shaped mess

However
tomorrow it will be
amaretto chicken & creamed noodles
