Notre Dame de Paris

by Le Prince de Monte Cristo

Notre Dame de Paris

She stands up proudly facing the river
She cuts the heavens by two fiery towers
Her gargles arrogant watch the Capital
And render the City for ever immortal

Hugo sang her splendour and her great majesty
Cosette by her side found pure beauty
Gavroche fell for glory and for fraternity
To give us a new word of love and liberty

If you walk to see the fiery cathedral
People remember she once was fatal
Men women and children died for equality
So you live today in all humanity
