Finding Release

A dark room
As the water runs
Steaming up in light foggy aromas
Rolling down her shoulders
Running down her back
Down the curve of her spine
And up over graceful hills..
Drawing on it's skinned canvas
Washing daily stress away..
Down the curves of her hips
Dripping off her fingertips
An exasperated sigh
Slipping through her lips
Steam..
Forming curly tendrils in her hair
Visible by the flickering
Of candle light dancing in the air
Reflecting off of the water
Giving her body a glow
Shimmering streams
Running back down to the floor.
Drawing her hands up
She reaches for her chest
Not in sexual play
But the space right between her breasts..
Making slow repetitive motions
As if pulling out a string
Maybe it's sign language?
Maybe it's from a play..
Continuing this gesture
Her lips form to say,
"Gone is my guilt
And of things that I'm afraid
Gone is regret
You have to go away
Gone are my stone walls
That push love astray
Gone are my insecurities
I'm pulling you out today.
And here is my strength
I'm pulling you out, but you must stay
I've pulled you out to wake you up
And put you back on top..

Never again
Will I let those demons suck you in."
Now standing still
She tries to feel
The empowerment of her gesture.
For eternal seconds
That echo
With the rhythmic water beat
She does not move..
While glowing lights dance across her cheeks
Finally she tilts her head back into the stream..
Finding release.
