Life's True Test

by Lemon Squeezy   Apr 11, 2014

What is life, but a vapor in the wind?
What's the point, we all die in the end?
That's a rule we cannot brake or bend,
Thus, the time we have we must carefully spend.

Life is fragile, frail, and short,
Death comes to all men every sort,
So why bother doing good, why exhort?
Why battle our flesh, why hold the fort?

With One word I give the answer to you,
That no longer these inquiries might stew.
No more must you wonder what should I do,
DUTY, that's the word I give to you.

It is not our duty to fret or fuss,
Nor is it to philosophy or discuss.
Accepting our duty is an absolute must,
In Christ we have confidence and trust

The duty of Man is to fear and obey,
The Lord our God, for He is the way.
Trust not my word, but the scriptures I say,
Only through Christ on the right path we stay.

That is the purpose, the meaning of life,
Tis' not to struggle, toil, or strife,
Collect up possessions, have kids or a wife,
Simply fear and obey, that's our duty in life.

Fear God and obey his commands,
That's the obligation God placed in our hands.
No greater cause, purpose or plan,
Than to fulfill the whole duty of man.

Exhort, love others and live life pure,
These are commands, obey them for sure.
Fear God while this life we briefly endure,
For the end of today could sum up your tour.

Yes, life is short and it ends in tragic death,
But that's all the more reason to use every breath,
To fear the Almighty and heed His request,
Fulfilling our whole duty is life's true test.
