Life's Battles

by Baby Rainbow   Jul 16, 2014

Everyone has a battle
in which they must face
with bravery; a challenge
they must learn to overcome.

Pain might grow,
but strength will conquer.

Everyone is facing an
obstacle course of
crossroads and traffic
lights; a journey they
must choose to travel.

Hope might fade,
but faith will find you.

Light will guide you
to where you are
meant to be, so please
don't believe in the
darkness.

I love inspirational poems like this! I always seem to come across them too when I think I don't need to hear it, but I really do, if that makes sense? People may say the whole idea is cliche, of everyone facing a battle, but it's true and relevant for every single person. We all just may write about it differently since each of our stories are not exactly the same. Beautifully written and I believe faith saves, even if that hope is fading like you wrote, even if we doubt, there's still faith somewhere in our hearts. The ending lines were powerful as well because you encourage the reader that there is light, and that we don't have to rest in darkness, or believe that's the only place to be....

One other part that made me think more deeply was this line:
"a journey they must choose to travel."

    - This is actually something I've thought about before, but in regards to change. That we have to be willing to change, just like with this journey, we must choose to keep going on the path we believe in, put our confidence and trust in it, etc.

    Great write!
