I Suppose

by Maple Tree   Sep 21, 2014

I suppose
this journey
means to
breathe
in silence,
while a
pebble
skips
upon
the river
making
ripple affects,
growing larger
with every
act of
compassion
made.

I suppose-
this
journey
is mine,
to share
with the
world
even
if
my
pockets
are
empty.

Lovely write Maple, again, a really nice layout that is easy on the eye, and just adds a touch of beauty to the look of the poem.

I really like how you open the poem with a journey of silence, to breath silently, as if you are hiding and keeping to yourself, when all else fails you and you no longer know what to do, you just have to remember to sit and breathe.

I really like the use of the pebble skipping through the water, especially after you use the word silence, it really impacts how the only noise would be this pebble splashing with every skim. I also think it can portray that with car and love, the good things in life can become larger, and you can appreciate the small things as big things.

I really liked your ending, showing that you feel you are empty in your pockets, perhaps of material richness, but yet, there is a tone that hints at inner richness, whether it be love, or the fact that you are living, and you are here to journey your story, and share it.

I think it also shows how we are all on our own journey, and we all take different things from the journeys we are given, and what we embark upon. We read things differently depending on our mood I think, and how we connect to them.

Sometimes it is hard to be grateful for the small things in life, when you feel so much pain, and loss, but to remind yourself that they do exist, is somewhat comforting. And also, someone else reading this poem, will also be reminded that everyone is facing a similar journey in that they do not know where they are going, they just have to be patient and breathe.
