Entrance to Hell

by -Choke-On-MY-Halo-   Oct 10, 2014

Religious douches think
I'm going straight to hell,
Just because I am bisexual
Well they're wrong!
I'm going to heaven so I've been
told,

Mother told me once
(and she said the truth)
"Those who go to church
sin more than those
who don't go",

So my eyes would never be fooled
That's what she taught,
and taught well versed,

Is loving a woman wrong?
If so, then yes I have sinned
and boy I've sinned a mile long!
First love, first crush, all women
Not ashamed one bit,
Those homophobic pricks can suck
air
Since I know it's not wrong,
God isn't that sick or depraved

Centuries ago I can bet
That men did men
They just kept it hushed
For the good of their "name"
What good is a name if you don't
have respect?

Come on, I can take on the hatred
Because when I go to sleep
at night
Know this lowly pricks:
Gays and lesbians are growing
and we won't stop,
This century is ours as you had the past

    "Religious douches think "
    reminds me of
    a Bob Dylan song
    "In a soldiers stance
    I aimed my fist
    at the mongrel
    dogs who teach
    fearing not I'd become
    my enemy in the instant
    that I preach

    The poem reflects my feeling
    on the religious
    influence on conscience
    in the context of erotic
    desire

    Well written 5>>>>>>>>>>>>

A very straight forward and raw poem. Your emotions are made clear throughout your poem and so are your beliefs. It's unfortunate that there are still people who look down so harshly on those who choose to have a different orientation about their love life. Even as a heterosexual, I do not feel as if I am any better than someone who is gay, lesbian, asexual, or even bisexual. Love doesn't discriminate and those who say otherwise should re-evaluate their beliefs on love.

The poem itself, as I said before, is raw and that gives it a very emotional and strong voice to its reader. The flow was pretty good throughout the poem and even some of the brighter emotions are felt, like when you describe your love for the people in your past. I'm sure many people can relate to this poem and know the struggle of exploring their sexuality in a world where the newer generation is so accepting of people being different, but the older, more conservative people are very demeaning. At any rate, I hope you are able to express yourself, however you want to without people impeding and trying to force their own beliefs on you.

All in all, the poem told a good story of a recently common struggle. I hope everything works out for you and that you continue to write and learn from that experience. Great job and keep writing!
