AND YOU

by ghosts in bloom   Dec 10, 2014

-

time, a hand too soon
bred our muse in captivity
licking verse from open wounds
and you,
the epiphany
in a broken theme

language, fists clenched
smote me down with poetry
syllables are faceless cliffs
and you,
the salted sea
i fell in too deep

mouth full, i ingest words
while anchored to a memory
metaphors are flightless birds
and you,
the apostrophes
in everything i read

    Judging Comment;

A fantastically penned piece that not only shares the emotions the author has towards whoever the "you" may be but it captures the reader and entices them, especially those who are book worms and literature freaks as many people on P&Q have allowed themselves to be. It reminds me of the "Kidnap poem" by Nikki Giovanni in the way this author has used elements of their skills and crafts to describe this person or how important that person may be. It is a personal twist on so many wonderful themes and it was penned beautifully.
