Patriot.

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 29, 2015

I want to write - never for fame, never for
medals or certificates or my name on a
bestseller list. I want to write of the gory
tragedies, the ones that are never passed
down generation to generation because of
fear or terror. I want to write to understand
the wars our heroes fight for, this land that
our Creator gave us to live a life of love.

I want to write - never of fiction, but of
truth. We cannot fall asleep to fairytales
anymore, for our nation is crumbling and
she cries in the great torrent of corruption.
She aches to be heard, for God's glory
to be restored, for a brave people to ascend
and defend the honor of this country.

I want to write, to never regret that I
owned a life meant to serve, a life not
bloodstained by

ignorance.

The passion in this poem is outstanding! It speaks volumes about the authors beliefs, and hopes, and how they wish they could make the world a better place. It also remains focused on writing, and the passion behind it all, the reasons for doing so. The poem has a very smooth pace to it and write an uplifting and also inspiring tone about it. The author also cleverly personifies this world, and mother nature, and the longing for peace is so captivating, it really enriches that desperation to make people live a better life, and to want more for their own life! A truly touching poem, written with the passion which is missing from many poems.
