The day Love died

The day Love died

He set his face like flint on his way to the cross, his Disciples along with the world were also lost, and could any of them pay the cost?
He was God in the flesh, fully human but unlike the rest, born of the Holy Spirit, totally blessed.
He is God the Word from above, the exact representation of the Father who is Love.
The Father and Son fit like a glove, when asked to take our place on the cross he didn't need a shove!
Down from Heaven he did go, born unto Mary as we know.
The Holy Spirit reveals these things for us to know, and in this knowledge we do glow.
On the cross that day Love died, *Sin and Love together cannot abide.
The Father's wrath came upon him for us; darkness dispelled the light and the day was turned into night, the sinless Son cried out, the Lamb of God was in deep despair; through his tears and sighs he thought; Father do you care?
The dogs wagged their tongues at him and mockingly said; is this the man who will save us from our sin? They did not know who he really was within.
The only Son of God is he, the image of the Almighty hanging on a tree.
At the cross Mary did see the spear pierce his side, her grief and pain was too great to hide.
He gave her to John who was at her side, as now his mother with him she would abide, for Jesus, the mother of his youth from her he must leave as to hide.
The grave and death could not hold him for he was always without sin. On the day he arose Love came back to life, a bright beacon shining in a world of strife. Jesus paid the Ransom we could not pay, now Love lives in us forever as it is a new day, our sins are washed away, Born Again forever is here to stay.

*The Bible tells us that he, Jesus who knew no sin became sin for us, he took our place, when he died we too died, when he arose we also arose as New Creations never to come unto Judgment for sin.
The just died for the unjust, an unspeakable Gift!
Romans 8:1 NASB.

Your poetry has a very unique feel to it Ken - especially the way you rhyme. And you always tell a story which I like.
