The Truth:

by Scott Cole   Jul 12, 2015

I am but your reflection
A small fraction of you,
If not for the outside
There would be no view.

I see what I look like
But looks can tell lies,
Cause just what you see
Can be your disguise.

We only see what we want
And nothing that we don't,
Cause the shadow we cast
Is that which we do want.

Our eyes tell our brain
That the image is exact,
But it's nothing like that
As a matter of fact.

The mirror can only see
What our reflection will allow,
So stand up there really tall
And do yourself proud.

Put on that big smile
That you have deep inside,
And show off the real you
For you have nothing to hide.

When the angle is right
And the lighting is too,
That reflection that you see
Is you through and through.
