Pea Fields in July (Etheree)

by Mr. Darcy   Jul 13, 2015

Swallows weave and twist like mad acrobats
Flying around the English steeples
Swooping down and skimming pea fields.
Their feeding frenzy lingers,
Choosing juicy insects
Upon the coastal breeze
Soon, an urgent call -
Ancestral bones;
Africa
Calls them
Home.

    Stunningly executed as usual and a beautiful, imaginative ending. "soon, an urgent call - Ancestral bones; Africa calls them home" - lovely.

    What a treat, all those beautiful poems you posted:)

    This is a tribute to Nature and it has a very nice twist in the end, that rounds off the poem nicely. It leaves me feeling like all has a purpose in life and all is as it should be.

    Well done,
