What if I was innocent

by Dancing Rivers   Jul 20, 2015

When I was a girl-I remember so well-
life seemed to be a game, it seemed to be swell.
I remember feeling that love
was as real as the skies above.

When I was a lass- if I correctly recall-
the world was united, a big round ball.
Poignantly I think upon those magical days
when every stranger had a familiar face.

When I was a wee thought-in my mamma's soul-
I danced in anticipation of becoming a part of something global.
I yearned to taste the sweetness of being alive,
before I was an infant.

Before the world tore me to shreds.
Before I realized that the world is dead.
Before I knew that I was guilty.
Before I knew there was no reality.

But what if I am innocent...

The innocence of youth - we can all relate to this - excellent, flowing piece.
