Life unlived

by DarkLight   Oct 27, 2015

It took me your gaze to break my shell,
built for so long
and all it took was a smile to make me beg for you
Armed with an emotional blocker
and all it took was your voice,
the words felt right.
moment was there,
a blazing chance to forever be with you.
Ignorance and pride,
things that shed me off my everything.
Could have opened up early enough,
but the thought of hurting your emotions was more painful to let the words land on you.
The trail is long,
regrets are my new friends,
mistakes made,
sleepless nights,
unending tears,
broken heart.
Life is empty
,
a hollow timeline.
How I wish could go back to that day,
choose you instead of darkness.
Scary scars,
a reminder of the one other person I never wanna be.
Hope I will find peace,
a single day without nightmares,
a single day to know happiness as I did you.
.
.
.
Broken lifeline.
Moments of regrets.
Life to never have
Looking for happiness.
Finding myself.
Finding a reason to believe in What is right.
Busy poet.
Burning tears.
BullyingFears

(Chose to be in military and I lost the woman of my heart. Came back a different person, broken inside, with little if nothing to live for but my own demons to keep me awake all night long)

Hang on in there friend, I can only guess as to what you have gone through, albeit your poem I think does say it all. Well written piece of work. Liked it.

What a sad endnote you have left there, Busy. Those dastardly demons really are buggers, aren't they.
From the poem's point, well written with a powerful lesson for anyone reading. Make sure the choices you make don't leave you with regrets you may never be able to shed.
All the very best and take care
