Realisation

by Jack mac   Nov 5, 2015

My lifes not in the right place, i guess it could be said.
There's a few things going on that my head can't comprehend.
My childhood is over, so close behind me I can almost touch,
I'm trying to let go of it but its hard to release the clutch.
As the years tick away my whole family is getting older
Now it's my turn to grow up and take the earth's weight on my shoulders.
Not realising one day I will myself be grey and wrinkled
And my soft green eyes will fade away and loose their twinkle.
I have to learn to be positive and take situations with ease
Instead of boiling up inside and crumbling down onto my knees
I think I am mature and that I have come a long way,
But in ten years time I'll look back and think that was a foolish thing to say.
I write these rhymes to satisfy myself and nobody else
It would be a bonus if the right man noticed and it added to my wealth.
Life seems such a struggle and a task you must complete
Some lose their mind or try to cheat, but always see defeat
The only way to win is to be kind and true to others
At the finish line you'll be able to say you've had many sisters and brothers.
