I CRIED

by Maricris   Mar 16, 2016

I cried
for unborn children
beloved husbands
gone to war
and some forgotten.
I cried
for many are hungry
and lost their homes
for battered women
who lost their glory.
I cried
because I realize
there are angels in disguise
give their love
without condition.
And so I cried
because someone helped me today
when I was almost astray
didn't ask in return
I know God made a way.

This is so telling, I myself cry over the bad things life offers up. But there are also so many good beautiful things that occur too. Sometimes its the smallest random acts of kindness that keep us believing. Take care. Brenda

    Hello Maricris

What struck me after reading this poem is a sad truth about the world in general: there are plenty of obvious things to cry about, but equally, there are plenty of good things too; unfortunately, they so often seem to go unnoticed. The best people and the best deeds are often the most subtle ones and unassuming.

    All the very best,
    Ben

      Hi Ben,

Thank you Ben. I'm so amazed by your comment. Reality is oftentimes bittersweet, crying over many things, sufferings but it's worth crying too when it's paid off.
And I'm so grateful Ben, that you feel the same. I sincerely welcome and appreciate your comment.

      Yours truly,
      Maricris
