A couple years ago, my life changed
It changed from what I know, to what I knew
Everything I had just gotten used to,
Was the past, the future was no more
To learn to start over was challenging,
People walked in and out of my life
The only person I could count on was myself
I had to rebuild my life from what it had once been
Broken, alone, and wandering I was
And yeah, it took a year
But here I am
Better than I was before
And as much as it sucks that I have to keep falling
It's always been worth it in the end,
Because the more time passes by, the more I grow
And the more strength I have to build
I am high, high above all else,
And I know I have journeys to continue to
But when I look back at where I was to where I am now,
It's where I had wished I'd always been
Loved, independent and growing
Strong, insightful, grateful
I am where I need to be
I am where I want to be.
