Mysterious Flower

by Shelley Williams   Mar 28, 2016

A friendship blossomed
where there was none,
Hidden among flowers
unknown to the sun.

Nourished in silence
behind a pink rose,
An ugly orange image
as if nothing grows.

Yet it feels sunlight
and the morning dew,
A slightly bent stem
where the pink roses grew.

A color of difference
not meant to be seen,
A leave me alone
to the pink and the green.

How it managed to grow
where little was known,
Among beautiful roses
content and alone.
