Played a part

by patrick   Apr 23, 2016

Un- plugged but totally connected, that is me
Midnight on my clock
Men of malice, Men of hate, ever present on the news
Every generation produces them
Clones
So it is; there are also heroes too share life's stage
An opposite parallel point of view

I do not know where the years have gone
Suddenly its now!
Feelings are all I have to take me forward
Endless amazing feelings; define me

What's to say?
I have been here taken part
Write that on my grave stone if you will
Never taken another's life
Gave my all to love, no malice in me, no hate
Just proud to have taken part

This poem gave a me an insight of something that I am not familiar with.
I loved the starting lines unplugged but totally connected. Still awake late at night troubled by thoughts going through your mind of men with malice and hate and the constant reminder always on the news.
No matter what the age group each generation producing clones of the evil that has gone on before. Creates real imagery.
The mention of heroes also sharing that stage implication that despite all the evil there will always be hero's there too to balance things out.
How fast time has passed and time has left you with only the feelings that define you.
The simple truth you have come to know that you want to be remembered by that you did your part gave your all without malice never taken another's life but proud to have taken part. Leaves me the impression of a hero who fought the wars against terrible odds did what was right yet still bears no malice. A wonderful insightful poem
