The Restoration of the LDS Church

by Shelley Williams   May 10, 2016

People once lived in darkness
unaware of the gospel word,
There was truth to be found
and in time it would be heard.

In faith, and humble prayer
"Which church is the right one?"
Joseph Smith saw the light
of the Father and the Son,

Baptized in peace and glory,
hands laid upon His head,
Bestowal of the Holy Ghost
of which he would be lead.

Joseph was ordained a Prophet,
to share God's eternal plan,
The gospel and priesthood power
blessed upon the hearts of man.

The Savior anointed with love
the true church upon the earth,
through personal revelation
came a promise of great worth.

A marvelous work and a wonder,
a blessing of latter-day,
The gospel truth restored
never to be taken away.
