The Queen In The Mirror:

by Scott Cole   May 11, 2016

My Queen, tilt your head to the left
Facing that bright light upon the wall,
All that beauty you call your good side
For It could be the fairest of them all.

Now stand up there nice and tall
Let me have a good look at you,
So why did you summon my powers
Let me guess, you're really feeling blue.

It's your skin again huh am I right
On the inside you suit yourself,
But what you see on the outside
I guess it worries your poor little self.

Well let me tell you your Heiness
You should consider yourself lucky,
At least you still do have your skin
That good stuff that hides all the ugly.

For you my Queen you have it all
Why should you ever ask this of me,
That same question now and then
About how good my eyes can see.

For I am but a mirror my Queen
Just an object of which you speak,
For never have I ever answered you
I knew the consequences of it's leak.

My Queen, it's all in who you believe
Either both eyes or all your smarts,
Or this silly mirror that's on your wall
That but gets your day off to it's start.
