God "o" selfish

by The Po whet   May 27, 2016

Save thyself,
its the most you can do;
lest they destroy thee
in their selfish craves
that roars
like rippling thunder
across
the stormed heavens.
Save thyself,
you've nothing to lose ;
ye of selflessness so comely and unfounded gratitude.
Save thyself,
be swayed not by empathy
and turn a blind eye unto
thy own gush ;
from intrepid inflicted wounds
by thy veiled would be afflicted.
Save thyself,
for they'll forget the many times
you were their gravy paladin
but only remember this one time
thee chose to gravitate to self in profligacy .
Away! I cry
save thyself,
for
even heroes need
heroes.
If they'll need thee,
they'll save thee from self.
