Deliberate Choice

by DarkLight   Jun 3, 2016

In the sweetness of that voice,
made of every earthly sin.
Became my deliberate choice,
to be one of the unseen.
In the wild wilderness,
beautified by cactus.
Filled with silence,
as people watched the actor.
The broken dreams,
of a future foreseen.
Turned into screams,
and for long has been.
It's my war,
alone I must fight.
To break down the wall,
and all my demons might.

An enthralling write from you as always. Full of deep, heartfelt emotion throughout.

In the sweetness of that voice,
    made of every earthly sin.
    Became my deliberate choice,
to be one of the unseen.
    ^^
A very powerful opening piece that makes me believe you're opening your heart up but because of past heartaches' it's proving difficult and somewhat 'sinful' so you deliberately chose to be unseen and unheard in love (my thoughts)

    In the wild wilderness,
    beautified by cactus.
    Filled with silence,
    as people watched the actor.
    ^^
A very imagery filled part. I like how you say 'beautifed by cactus' because cactus can be beautiful to the right person (like a person can be beautiful for us but no-one else) I fell the actor here is you.

    The broken dreams,
    of a future foreseen.
    Turned into screams,
    and for long has been.
    ^^
I like this part the best because it's so relatable. Each one of us has a dream and many of them will be broken therefore not helping us in our paths if life as we feel we can't go on due to the lack of fulfillment.

    It's my war
    alone I must fight.
    To break down the wall,
    and all my demons might.
    ^^
Very powerful ending. Each one of us is fighting our own war 'life' and some have it tougher than others, unfortunately.
Love the optimism here of breaking down the demons walls. I hope this write helped in figuring your war.
    All the best, Em

    Hello Shanky

A moving write that's full of quiet desperation and an honesty about the position you find yourself in.
The lifting thing about this piece is that you display a willingness to fight and move on:

"It's my war, alone I must fight"

    A great little poem.
    All the very best,
    Ben
