The unknown

by Michael LoMonaco   Jun 30, 2016

The unknown is like a blank jigsaw,
Solving a puzzle with no picture.

The world is full of mysterious riddles,
One that doesn't offer a roadmap.

We rely on our logical judgement,
Guiding us through the maze of life.

Destiny can lead to any path,
As fear creeps up in the soul.

Live in the present mind frame,
While preparing for the unclear trail.

I love the ending of your poem Michael. Overthinking can lead to fear; preparing yourself too much for the future means you forget the moment.

Michael, welcome to P&Qs. A very empowering and inspirational first poem, many people could learn from this.

The unknown is like a blank jigsaw,
Solving a puzzle with no picture.

This is a fantastic start and you're right going to the unknown is like a blank jigsaw because you never know what it will have in store a bit like going into live/life with your eyes tightly shut.

The world is full of mysterious riddles,
One that doesn't offer a roadmap.
    ^^
Love the imagery here it's fantastic. Very well put because life is mysterious.

We rely on our logical judgement,
Guiding us through the maze of life.

I see myself nodding here. Our own judgment is key but could guide us in the wrong way through this maze we call life.

Destiny can lead to any path,
As fear creeps up in the soul.
    ^^
The image of fear creeping is wonderful. Destiny can lead to any path and if we choose the wrong path we will always be guided to the right one.

Live in the present mind frame,
While preparing for the unclear trail.

    Beautiful ending!!

    Great job, Em

A very honest poem and one I agree with. Short, sweet and to the point. It delivers a great message - almost inspirational - but I'd rather take it as sincere advice. I'm more partial to rhyming poems myself, but that's just me. This is very good though, especially for a first submission.

Welcome to P&Q good Sir and thank you for sharing your work with us all :)
