Continental Spread (Senryu String)

by The Collaborators   Jul 8, 2016

Adaptive species
aligned to crude forms of life.
Africa of blacks.

Embrace norms early.
Experts, at improvising,
exposed to hard lives.

Soldiering through heat,
at peace with deserts and planes;
merciful in life.

Change through dissidence,
our roots grow beautifully
into strong, free plants.

Day by day we live,
building our strength and growing
forever upward.

We build ourselves up.
Poetry brings our species
together as one.

This is a great senryu string - no easy task considering so many of you took part. An original topic, well executed.
I don't know whether it was intentional, but the last one only has 6 syllables in the second line and 16 syllables in all. Either way, it doesn't matter as I believe the rule for senryu is technically 17 syllables OR LESS. Well done all of you,

Thank you very much for an in-depth comment, and for checking the syllables! I have made the alteration where you pointed out the error and I very much so appreciate it :)
