Leaf afloat

by DarkLight   Aug 4, 2016

My life is a snail trail of brokenness
where my dreams thirst for company of winds
but sting like a desert bee.
Wish I can tell you a story about a flower,
one that never dies
vampire plant, feeds on human blood,
It plucks today and come tomorrow again it does.
Broken but not rotten.

Sir Lancelot is correct. When I let people I know in person read my work, they say they never understand poetry. It's not always important that it makes sense. Imagery and emotion truly is the key to poetry - what do you feel or see when you read?

Imagery and emotion, two of the most important things a piece of poetry requires.
