The joke of eternity

The joke of eternity
DERRICK MERDY·SUNDAY, JULY 31, 2016
The sun is slanting though the window now, covering the east wall it's warm gold. A moth has flown to circle the room. Soon the sun will disappear to take up tomorrow a pan known from the beginning.... And the moth... It may die before it returns... Everything wants to live forever... Consciously or unconsciously... That's the joke of eternity. Not I... I have had my eternity, so in fact so has everything, even if only for a second... Like you Shameka... A second on earth was enough for you to know it all.
