Aleppo

by Golden AnGel Rhapsodist & Marvellous   Dec 31, 2016

Bullets and rockets on rampage
Claiming innocent human lives
A zone bewildered by vengeance
The battlefield of Middle East

Monster horses becloud the air
On prowl for the very last heir
Heavy missiles on a warfare
Artilleries of doom, how fair?

Manpower, survival or honor
Unsure, what this struggle is for
Spacious territories and the pride
Assets that can never abide

The belief, peace comes after war
While before us, blood and bones pour
Indeed holy battle, we call
When for avarice, we devour

The malady of rage and fear
An obsession we've come to cheer
Emotion, the war within us
Where went the light to quell this fight?

Oh.. so poor, how I missed out the show.. Indeed, I'm thankful to You all WONDER MINDS out there, for making out the precious, sacred time, to review this inviting effort. I'm absolutely humbled by the fashionable spirit of kindness that has weaved us together, amidst our glaring differences.
Well done to us all, and more strides this new year!
And as for madame Gel; You made this work!
Thank you plenty, for all support!
Thankful for us! You made my day..

Very true write you two. It is a sad state of affairs that we can't put our differences aside. So many lives lost and for what? Beautifully done-

    Well done to you both:

War poems send chills through me, the 'bullets and rockets' symbolise only death. Here the 'innocent' lives lost are on a 'battlefield' in the 'Middle East'. I can see clearly the 'Monster horses' aka, planes prowling like a hunter. It's hardly 'fair' when their claws are 'missiles'. When warfare is unfair, it really is a matter of 'honour/ survival', all over a boundary line, does it matter, surely there is a diplomatic solution? Assets equate greed; greed and war are both senseless. There is nothing 'holy' about this, or any war, they are pure evil; either from one or more aggressor. War is indeed, 'the war within us' where will we find, 'the light' to stop all wars? The answer to this has yet to be agreed. It takes two to fight, but you can't expect the bullied to remain downtrodden. What we have at the moment is a nuclear stalemate. Is this what modern freedom looks like, WOMD pointing at us from all angles? It's like being told to dance with a gun pointed at you.

A good poem, with some lovely descriptions, words and rhyme.

    Take care,

    Michael

Well done on this write, guys, but wouldn't it be nice if we could reach a point in time where writing about war was no longer relevant? Sadly, I cannot imagine that day ever becoming a reality.

    All the best,

    Ben
